Trooper hurt when motorcycle hits deer

SEATTLE (AP) — A Washington State Patrol motorcycle trooper was hurt when he crashed into a deer on state Route 101 in Pacific County.

The State Patrol says the 39-year-old trooper was traveling northbound at about 9:45 a.m. Saturday when the animal crossed the roadway. The motorcycle hit the deer and skidded onto the highway.

The trooper was taken to Willapa Harbor Hospital in Raymond with bumps, bruises and a road rash.
