FRENCH LICK, Ind. (AP) — David Paeglow shot a 5-under 65 on Sunday on The Donald Ross Course at French Lick Resort to take the lead during the suspended first round of the PGA Professional National Championship.

Paeglow, the head pro at Kishwaukee Country Club in DeKalb, Ill., eagled the par-4 eighth, hitting a gap wedge 30 feet past the hole that spun back in. He also had four birdies and a bogey in the rain-delayed round.

Forty-five of the 312 players were unable to complete the round because of darkness.

The final top 20 will earn spots in the PGA Championship on Aug. 12-15 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
