KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Umpire Alfonso Marquez is expected back on the field Wednesday, two days after leaving a game with symptoms of heat distress.

Marquez left Monday night’s game in Kansas City between the White Sox and Royals in the bottom of the fifth inning with shortness of breath. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and was not kept overnight.

Crew chief Tim Tschida said Marquez would be back for Wednesday night’s White Sox-Royals game. Marquez was replaced on the field Tuesday night by Dan Bellino.
