VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A Clark County Superior Court jury has convicted a Vancouver man of first-degree attempted murder for shooting his ex-best friend five times at a Hazel Dell market.

Jurors deliberated just over four hours before returning their verdict Tuesday in last winter’s shooting at the Bi-Lo Market.

When the verdict was read, 33-year-old Jose Gasteazoro-Paniagua showed no emotion, although family members behind him began softly crying.

Sentencing was set for July 9.
