Rock N Roll Heaven wins $220,000 Berry’s Creek

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Rock N Roll Heaven took the lead on the backstretch and beat Fred And Ginger by 114 lengths in the $220,000 Berry’s Creek at the Meadowlands on Saturday night.

Driven by Daniel Dube, Rock N Roll Heaven covered the mile in 1:52 in winning the first major stakes for 3-year-old pacers this year and setting himself up as the early favorite for the $1 million Meadowlands Pace on July 17.

The Bruce Saunders-trained colt paid $7, $4.20 and $2.80 in winning for the second time in three starts this year.

Fred And Ginger returned $6.40 and $3.40. Kyle Major paid $2.60 to show.
