PHOENIX (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed right-handed pitcher Charlie Haeger on the 15-day disabled list with plantar fasciitis.

The knuckleballer lasted only 22 pitches and did not retire any of the five batters he faced in his last start, Saturday against the Colorado Rockies.

Haeger is 0-4 with a team-high 8.49 ERA in seven appearances this season, including five starts.

The Dodgers called up right-hander John Ely from Triple-A Albuquerque to take Haeger’s place on the active roster. Ely is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The rookie has started two games this season and is 0-1 with a 4.26 ERA.
