ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels have placed struggling reliever Brian Stokes on the 15-day disabled list because of right shoulder fatigue and recalled Bobby Cassevah from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Stokes has no record and a 7.31 ERA in 15 games this season. He has issued 16 walks in 16 innings.
The Angels also rescinded the option of right-hander Matt Palmer to Salt Lake and placed him on the 15-day DL Tuesday, retroactive to May 7, because of a sprained shoulder.
This is Cassevah’s second stint with the big club this season. The right-hander allowed four runs in 4 1-3 innings over three games before he was optioned to Salt Lake on April 13.
