PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Flyers forward Danny Briere has been suspended three games by the NHL for his crosscheck of the Islanders’ Frans Nielsen.

Briere had a conference call with the NHL’s disciplinary committee Monday.

He will miss Monday’s game against Carolina, Thursday’s game against the Rangers and Saturday’s game against the Islanders.

Briere’s crosscheck of Nielsen with one minute left Saturday sparked the final melee in a fight-filled game.
