AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Kevin Harvick is quite comfortable with his spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship and confident he can sneak up and steal the title.

Harvick goes into Sunday’s race at Phoenix International Raceway ranked third in the standings behind Denny Hamlin and four-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson.

Harvick says the focus has been on Hamlin and Johnson, and that’s allowed his team to operate under the radar.

He’s also enjoyed sitting back and watching the barbs fly back and forth between Hamlin’s and Johnson’s teams. Harvick made sure to keep the bickering front and center Friday in another attempt to keep the attention off of him.
