ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Dillon Romain rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries Saturday as Albany (N.Y.) defeated Wagner 24-14 in a Northeast Conference game.
Romain scored on a 25-yard run in the third quarter that gave the Great Danes (5-5, 3-4) the lead for good, 21-14 with 12:39 left in the third quarter.
Albany got its first lead when Ryan Kirchner returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown with 11:54 left in the second quarter. Wagner (5-5, 3-4), which lost its third of four games, answered six minutes later with a 12-play, 88-yard drive.
That drive ended with Eric Foxworth scoring on an 11-yard run with 5:48 before halftime.
Nick Doscher completed 19 of 31 passes for 251 yards, but his second interception hurt the Seahawks the most. It came with 6:09 left to play, just after they passed midfield on a drive the Seahawks hoped would to cut into Albany’s 10-point lead.
