COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Sam Muldrow scored 20 points and Lakeem Jackson added 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead South Carolina to a 94-79 win over Elon on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

The Gamecocks shot better on 3-pointers (56 percent) than from the field (53 percent) and ended up with six players in double figures.

Jack Isenbarger led Elon with 22 points, while Drew Spradlin added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Mailk Cooke scored 13 points for South Carolina, and Ramon Galloway added 11 points, making all three of his 3-pointers as he show few problems from a foot fracture that kept him out of most of preseason practice.
