SEATTLE (AP) — Some birds from the presidential turkey flock that aren’t going to make it to the White House make a stop in Washington state this week.
The turkeys from Foster Farms in Modesto, Calif., were raised among the birds being chosen for official duties in Washington, D.C.
They stopped at two Seattle schools on Monday: West Seattle Montessori and Cougar Elementary in Arlington. Foster Farms says their next stop will be Washington State University’s agriculture program.
The turkeys visited Washington classrooms as guests of the state agriculture department. Some of their brothers will be going to the other Washington to take part in the president’s annual Thanksgiving pardon.
