Florida International rallies to beat Barry 69-54

MIAMI (AP) — Eric Frederick scored 21 points to lead Florida International to a 69-54 victory over Barry on Monday night.

The Panthers (2-0) shook off a tough challenge from the Division II Buccaneers and finally put the game away with a 13-0 run during a 5:38 span in the second half.

Frederick scored seven points during the spurt and his 3-point play with 4:26 left capped the run for a 63-47 Florida International lead.

Jeremy Allen finished with 14 points and DeJuan Wagner scored all of his 11 points in the second half.

Barry, which lost to Miami 102-33 in an exhibition game on Nov. 3, led 35-30 at halftime on the strength of 7-of-16 shooting from 3-point range.

Florida International and Barry maintained a frenetic pace in the opening 12 minutes, combining for 33 shots, including 17 3-point attempts.

Zack Trapp finished with 14 points for the Buccaneers (0-2).
