ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Greg Brown scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Tuesday night as Navy defeated Neumann 74-62.

Neumann (0-2), a Division III team, was undone by 35 turnovers and an inability to keep Navy from grabbing key offensive rebounds. The Midshipmen (1-2) grabbed 17 offensive rebounds to Neumann’s 9.

Navy had beaten its previous four Division III opponents over the last four years by an average of 32.3 points, so the Knights gave the Midshipmen a better game than most. In fact, the Knights took their final lead, 45-44, on Marguise Boggs’ jumper with 13:37 to play.

Navy answered with an 11-0 run in which Jordan Sugars contributed a layup and a 3-pointer. That gave the Midshipmen a 55-45 lead with 9:51 to play, and the closest the Knights came thereafter was six points.

Sugars added 16 points for Navy.

Patrick O’Conner led Neumann with 21 points while Boggs added 14.
