OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — A corrections officer from the state prison at Shelton has been accused of trying to rape his wife at gunpoint.

The Olympian reports 54-year-old Cornelius Davis was arrested Wednesday night and jailed in Olympia for investigation of attempted rape.

Court papers say Davis confronted his wife over messages he found on her phone and she admitted she was having an affair. The wife says Davis grabbed a handgun, demanded sex and ordered her to take off her clothes. She ran outside naked and hid behind a tree and called 911.
