Alabama A&M defeats Tuskegee 70-67

NORMAL, Ala. (AP) — Jerome Hunter had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds and Alabama A&M defeated Tuskegee 70-67 on Saturday night.

Hunter led four players in double figures as Bo Amusa finished with 14, Desmond Jackson had 11 and Cornelius Hester chipped in 10 for the Bulldogs (2-1).

After a back-and-forth second half, the Golden Tigers (0-1) brought it within 64-63 on Calvin Thomas’ layup with 2:15 left. Alabama A&M answered with a 6-2 run and led 70-65 on Reggie Porter’s free throws with 5 seconds left.

An altercation then broke out with 3.9 seconds left and Jabari Deshields, Quintarius Hutchinson and Jonathan Inman were all ejected for leaving the Alabama A&M bench.

Tuskegee’s Calvin Thomas made both free throws from the technical foul, but missed a tying 3 with no time left.

Andrae Nelson led the Division II Golden Tigers with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
