Prep notes: Camas’ Patterson signs with New Mexico

Pitcher won playoff game as Papermakers reached state title game

Ryan Patterson, who helped Camas to a second-place finish in the Class 3A state baseball playoffs in the spring, has signed a letter of intent to pitch for New Mexico.

Patterson went 4-0 with 19 strikeouts in 24 innings last season.

Patterson won a playoff game for the Papermakers during their playoff run.

The 2010 Papermakers were the first to win a state baseball playoff game in the program’s history.

Camas beat league rival Columbia River in the semifinals before falling to O’Dea in the championship game at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Camas coach Joe Hallead said Patterson, now a senior, will be have a bigger role this upcoming season.

Mosley to St. Martin’s — Union senior soccer standout Kynnedy Mosley has made her intentions known that she will to sign with Saint Martin’s University in Lacey. Signing day for soccer players is in February.

Mosley started every game in Union’s history, starting her freshman year when the school opened its doors. Union made it to the Class 3A state playoffs in 2008 and 2009.
