OCEAN SHORES, Wash. (AP) — Ocean Shores Police tracked down a burglary suspect Tuesday night by following his footprints in the snow.

Deputy Chief Russ Fitts says officers found a 34-year-old Hoquiam man hiding under the home’s deck. He was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail.

Police told KXRO the man admitted removing items from the home earlier in the day and was returning to take more when the smoke detector sounded.
