Holland leads Boston University past Nevada 66-57

WASHINGTON (AP) — John Holland scored 18 of his 28 points in the first half and Boston University pulled away from Nevada 66-57 in the consolation round of the NIT Season Tipoff on Tuesday.

The Terriers (3-3) pulled ahead on a 20-3 run, started by Holland.

Jake O’Brien scored 15 points and D.J. Irving added 13 for the Terriers, who trailed 21-16 with 5:31 remaining in the first half when Holland was fouled while making a thunderous dunk. Holland converted the three-point play to ignite the decisive stretch, and scored 10 more points in the half to send the Terriers into the locker room with a 32-24 lead.

The Terriers then scored the opening four points of the second half and O’Brien’s 3-pointer put them up 46-32 with 13:56 remaining.

Malik Story scored 14 points and Dario Hunt finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolf Pack (1-4), who held a 47-32 rebounding advantage.
