Kent State comes back to beat Urbana 94-71

CLEVELAND (AP) — Justin Greene scored 20 points, Carlton Guyton 15, and Justin Manns 14, to help Kent State beat upset-minded Urbana 94-71 on Tuesday night.

The Golden Flashes (5-1) trailed by as many as seven points, 17-10, with 10:55 remaining in the opening half, but came back to take a 33-27 lead with 3:10 to go in the first.

Then it was the Blue Knights’ turn to make a run. A 3-pointer from Charlton Conner with 33 seconds left in the first half capped off a 12-3 run for Urbana, giving the Blue Knights a 39-36 lead at halftime.

The second half was a different story as Kent State shot 20 for 32 from the floor (62.5 percent) and outscored the Blue Knights 58-32, including 32-6 in the paint.

Robert Wilson scored a game-high 21 points for Urbana (1-4) and was the only Blue Knight in double figures.

Michael Porrini added 13 points and five assists for the Golden Flashes.
