CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State University has closed its campus in Corvallis for the remainder of the day after an electrical fire in steam tunnels caused smoke and other problems.

The closure effective at noon Wednesday came just before the Thanksgiving holiday break but officials said they hope to have all services restored by Monday.

The fire caused problems with electrical service, heating, noxious fumes and computer network connectivity in a number of buildings.

Officials said residence halls and campus dining facilities had not been affected.
