SALEM, Ore. (AP) — After taking the stand in his own defense, Joshua Turnidge was portrayed by prosecutors as a liar who gave conflicting statements about a deadly bank bombing two years ago in Woodburn.
Joshua Turnidge and his father, Bruce Turnidge, are on trial in Salem on aggravated murder charges in the December 2008 explosion that killed two police officers.
The father and son have each accused the other of responsibility.
But on Tuesday, his own grandmother testified that Joshua Turnidge “is not truthful.”
Prosecutors grilled the younger Turnidge about inconsistent statements.
He admitted lying to police about his alibi. But Joshua Turnidge said he was just scared and trying to keep himself out of trouble as investigators focused on his father.
