BOSTON (AP) — Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will miss Wednesday night’s game against the New Jersey Nets with a strained left hamstring.
It will be the third straight game that he’s sidelined with the injury. Boston coach Doc Rivers was uncertain if he will play in the team’s next game Friday against Toronto.
Rondo, the team’s playmaker, is off to a strong start this season with 11.2 points and 14.3 assists per game. He posted the second-most assists in league history in the first eight games with 118. Hall of Famer John Stockton had 135 in 1989-90.
Nate Robinson will start in his place.
