You can be a “book angel” and get the world of reading into the hands of a child this holiday season.

Vintage Books at 6613 E. Mill Plain Blvd. is continuing its tradition of giving customers a 20 percent discount on books that are purchased and donated.

This year the beneficiaries will be Marrion Elementary School and Learning Avenues Day Care Center.

Also, Vintage is collecting other items for the kids, such as hats, gloves, mittens and underwear.

You can also make a cash or trade-credit donation.

Vintage will be collecting donated items through Dec. 13.

Its Book Angels program has already donated 179 boxes of books this year, according to outreach coordinator Debbie Buck.
