LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Charles Jenkins scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half to lead Hofstra to a 58-48 win over Rider on Monday night.

In a rematch of last season’s ESPNU BracketBusters overtime game, the Pride (3-3) led 33-25 early in the second half.

The Broncs (4-3) used a 14-6 run to tie the score at 39, then the momentum turned in Hofstra’s favor. A 13-2 spurt, including six points by Shemiye McLendon, gave Hofstra a 52-41 lead with 5:23 left to play.

Dwan McMillan added 10 points for Hofstra, which took a 24-8 lead thanks to a 22-4 run, but led only 28-20 at the break.

Mike Ringgold had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Justin Robinson scored 17 points for Rider, which has lost two straight after winning four in a row.

The Broncs, who had their lowest point total of the season, shot just 33.9 percent from the field (20 of 59) and were only 2 of 4 from the free-throw line.
