MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) — Clearing skies Monday allowed a helicopter from the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station to join the search for a Skagit County woman missing on Sauk Mountain.

Skagit County Deputy Will Reichardt says Patricia Kreiger disappeared Saturday after she became separated from a five-member group that had gone up the mountain to scatter the ashes of a friend’s parent.

Searchers are concerned the 65-year-old Kreiger is not equipped to stay out overnight. They are heartened that she is with her 100-pound Rottweiler.
