Canucks acquire Parent, Andersson from Predators

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Vancouver Canucks acquired defenseman Ryan Parent and forward Jonas Andersson from the Nashville Predators for defenseman Shane O’Brien and forward Dan Gendur on Tuesday.

Parent had a goal and two assists in 48 games last season with Philadelphia Flyers.

Andersson had seven goals and 13 assists in 30 games last year with Minsk Dynamo of the KHL.

O’Brien played in 65 games for the Canucks last season with 79 penalty minutes. He played in each of Vancouver’s 12 playoff games with three points and 25 penalty minutes.

Nashville will be the fourth team for O’Brien, who has played in 299 career NHL games.

Gendur split last season between Victoria of the ECHL and the AHL Johnstown Chiefs. He had two goals and six assists in 21 games.
