ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders defensive tackle John Henderson could be sidelined for more than a month with a stress fracture in his right foot.
Coach Tom Cable disclosed the extent of the injury on Wednesday. He says Henderson could miss between two and five additional weeks. Henderson has already missed two games since hurting his foot in Week 2 against St. Louis.
The injury is a blow to the Raiders’ struggling run defense. Henderson is a two-time Pro Bowler who was brought in during the offseason to bolster Oakland’s interior line.
With Henderson sidelined last week, Houston ran for 249 yards against the Raiders in a 31-24 victory.
