MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Cory Nolton blocked a 28-yard field goal attempt with 6 seconds left, and Robert Morris held on for a 17-16 win over Monmouth on Saturday.

After going up 17-10 on Garrett Clawson’s 34-yard field goal with 3 seconds left in the first half, the Colonials (5-1, 4-1 Northeast Conference) held on to the slim lead through the third quarter and most of the fourth.

The Hawks (1-4, 1-1) then scored on an 8-yard pass from Kyle Frazier to Chris Hogan with 1:38 to play. Eric Spillane missed the extra point however, hitting the left upright.

Monmouth then recovered an onside kick on its own 45 and used six plays, including passes of 13 and 25 yards, to set up Spillane’s potential game-winner.

Robert Morris was led by Jeff Sinclair with 148 yards and a touchdown on 10-for-19 passing.

Frazier was 19-for-30 passing with 189 yards and a touchdown.
