PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Searchers have returned to a northwest Portland island searching for clues to the whereabouts of a missing 8-year-old boy.

The Oregonian reports that the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office will be assisted by other agencies and nonprofit groups that have offered searchers.

The search resumes without its leader, Sgt. Diana Olsen, who is recuperating after being struck by a suspected drunken driver on Thursday night and suffering minor injuries.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Lt. Mary Lindstrand says searchers will likely look in the same areas they searched last weekend for Kyron Horman, who has been missing since June.

Sauvie Island has been a focal point in the past in the search for Kyron.
