CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina will hold out another player against Clemson because of the ongoing NCAA investigation.

The school says fullback Devon Ramsay will be out due to information gathered this week in the probe into agent-related and improper benefits as well as possible academic misconduct.

The school also said Saturday that senior safety Jonathan Smith — who has been held out of every game — won’t play this year, though it didn’t explain why.

North Carolina has nine players whose status remains in question due to the probe. Cornerback Kendric Burney is suspended for two more games because of improper benefits connected to several trips.

Safety Deunta Williams is returning Saturday after missing four games due to improper benefits connected to trips.
