GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The New Orleans Saints were without running back Pierre Thomas against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the second week in a row the running back has been inactive because of a sprained ankle.

New Orleans already was without running back Reggie Bush because of a broken leg. The Saints also were without two starters on defense — cornerback Tracy Porter (knee) and defensive end Will Smith (groin).

Arizona was without a pair of defensive backups — safety Matt Ware (knee) and defensive end Kenny Iwebema (ankle). The Cardinals again were without wide receivers Steve Breaston (knee) and Early Doucet (sports hernia). Both might be back after the Cardinals’ bye week next week.
