PLANO, Texas (AP) — Dallas Stars forward Mike Ribeiro has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication at a suburban Dallas restaurant.

Plano police say Ribeiro and three others were released from jail before dawn Monday after their arrests Sunday night.

The 30-year-old Ribeiro scored the winning goal in a shootout to beat the New York Islanders 5-4 Saturday night, giving the Stars their first 2-0 start since 2006. Dallas plays its home opener Thursday night against Detroit.

Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk says the team will handle the matter internally.

A police spokeswoman said there was no information on an attorney for Ribeiro.
