SEATTLE (AP) — Michael Fucito and Nate Jaqua scored goals 13 minutes apart and Sanna Nyassi added a late tally to lead the Seattle Sounders to a 3-1 exhibition victory over Chivas de Guadalajara on Tuesday night.
Fucito put in a shot off the left post midway through the fifth minute. Jaqua scored on a header near the midpoint of the 18th minute.
Marco Fabian scored on a header for CD Chivas in the 70th minute on a perfectly placed target ball by Miguel Ponce from the left side.
The Sounders, having won their second straight U.S. Open Cup last Tuesday, then clinching an MLS playoff spot last Saturday, gave virtually all of their regulars the night off except for second-half subs Nyassi and Fredy Montero, whose shot off the left post led to Nyassi’s goal.
