CLEVELAND (AP) — Cleveland forward Antawn Jamison and swingman Anthony Parker missed the Cavaliers’ exhibition game Saturday night against CSKA Moscow because of injuries.
Both were injured Thursday night against San Antonio. Jamison sprained his left knee while Parker sprained two fingers on his right (shooting) hand. Jamison was sidelined previously with tendinitis in the knee.
The Cavaliers, who are adjusting to playing without superstar LeBron James, have been battling injuries throughout training camp. Guard Mo Williams (groin) and forward/center Anderson Varejao (ankle, personal reasons) have yet to play in a game.
The Cavaliers play their final two exhibition games next week. Cleveland coach Byron Scott said Varejao could return Tuesday night against Philadelphia, a game that will be played in Cincinnati. Williams, who started practicing this week, might play Thursday night against Milwawukee in Columbus.
Scott isn’t sure if Jamison and Parker will play until the season opener against Boston on Oct. 27.
