HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Foley Schmidt kicked two fourth-quarter field goals and Pat Scorah returned an interception for the clinching touchdown as Dartmouth defeated Holy Cross 27-19 Saturday.
Schmidt’s 35- and 32-yard field goals gave the Big Green (3-2) their first lead of the game, 20-19, and Scorah’s 43-yard interception return with 48 seconds left sealed the win.
Holy Cross (3-4) led 16-7 early in the second quarter after Ryan Taggart threw 8-yard touchdown passes to Freddie Santana and Gerald Mistretta and Rob Dornfried kicked a 30-yard field goal
Dartmouth pulled within two, 16-14, on Connor Kempe’s 1-yard touchdown run, but the Crusaders answered with a 20-yard field goal by Dornfried.
Nick Schwieger rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries for Dartmouth. Taggart completed 25 of 39 passes for 220 yards for Holy Cross, but threw four interceptions.
