NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Brook Hart hit Jordan Forney with a 29-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter and Yale held off Fordham 7-6 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (4-1) drove 74 yards in six plays after the Rams (2-5) took a 6-0 lead on Patrick Murray’s 38-yard field goal. Murray kicked a 45-yarder in the first quarter.

Hart, who completed 15 of 29 for 227 yards, passed 19 yards to Shane Bannon and 14 to Gio Christodoulou for first downs before finding Forney for the go-ahead score.

On its ensuing possession, Fordham drove to the Yale 1, but Chris Dooley blocked Murray’s field goal try.

After Yale then drove to the Fordham 23, Phillipe Panico missed his third field goal attempt of the game.

Fordham got back into Yale territory, but Blake Wayne’s pass was intercepted by Adam Money at the Bulldogs 34.

Wayne was 25-for-42 for 219 yards with two interceptions.
