NEW YORK (AP) — The Patriots’ overtime win over the Ravens helped carry CBS to match the highest preliminary rating for its single-game window since it acquired the current AFC package.
The network said Monday it averaged a 14.3 overnight rating and 29 share. That ties Week 16 in 2008, highlighted by a Steelers-Titans showdown for AFC supremacy, as the best rating since CBS reacquired the NFL in 1998.
It’s up 91 percent from last year’s comparable Week 7 rating of 7.5/16.
Sunday’s window also included an overtime Dolphins-Packers game, as well as Jets-Broncos and Ben Roethlisberger’s return in the Browns-Steelers matchup.
Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Shares represent the percentage of all homes with TVs in use at the time. Overnight rating measure the country’s largest markets.
