An Amboy man critically injured in an accident last weekend was still fighting for his life Wednesday.
H. Sloan Blanchard, 27, is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Southwest Washington Medical Center, a hospital official said.
He was injured Saturday night when the car he was riding in slammed into a tree.
Authorities have said the accident happened about 8:38 p.m. on Northeast Cedar Creek Road near Pup Creek Road. A caller told a 911 dispatcher that the car struck a tree in the 15000 block of Cedar Creek Road and an occupant was trapped.
Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy James Payne arrived to find a passenger with extensive injuries pinned in an older model Cadillac. The driver had left on foot, police said.
Deputies later found the driver, Jason Graham, 36, of Vancouver at a hospital. He was arrested for suspicion of vehicular assault, felony hit and run and outstanding warrants.
