INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Zenyatta galloped 114 miles under steady rain at Hollywood Park as the undefeated mare tunes up for next month’s Breeders’ Cup.

She completed the workout Wednesday on the synthetic Cushion Track under exercise rider Steve Willard. Zenyatta had been galloping 112 miles, but trainer John Shirreffs says the distance was purposely shortened because of the soft track condition.

She will gallop again on Thursday and is set to do a timed workout on Friday.

Zenyatta will try to extend her career record to 20-0 when she defends her title in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic on Nov. 6 in Louisville, Ky.
