SEABECK, Wash. (AP) — About 60 participants — some from as far away as Holland and Japan — are attending the annual Deaf-Blind Retreat this week at the Seabeck Conference Center.
The Kitsap Sun reports many participants are enjoying outings on recumbent trikes or tandem bikes — with help from volunteers — for two-mile rides around Lake Symington.
The event is organized by Seattle Lighthouse, a nonprofit that provides employment, support and training for people who are blind and blind with other disabilities.
Other activities during the weeklong retreat include cooking classes, kayaking and paddleboarding.
