An injured motorcycle rider was airlifted from the Washougal Motocross Park to a Vancouver hospital Sunday afternoon in what was described as a precautionary move.
The motocross rider was injured during a racing accident at about 1:15 p.m., said Capt. Scott Koehler of East County Fire & Rescue.
A Life Flight helicopter was dispatched as a precaution, Koehler said, because of what would have been a long ambulance ride from the motocross track north of Washougal.
Described only as man in his early 20s, the rider suffered neck injuries. He was treated by medics at the track before the helicopter arrived, Koehler said.
