MONTREAL (AP) — A Canadian Football League player who was stabbed over the weekend in Montreal has been released from intensive care.
The Montreal Alouettes said Friday that Walter Spencer was moved out of the ICU on Thursday.
The 31-year-old linebacker underwent surgery after he was stabbed twice in the chest during an argument outside a bar early Monday. Police are investigating.
The Alouettes say he is in good spirits and wants to thank the fans for their support. No date has been set for his release from the hospital.
