Ridgefeld interchange work to spur I-5 delays

Motorists will face construction delays this week along Interstate 5 at the interchange with state Highway 501 in Ridgefield.

Multiple lanes and ramps will be closed for bridge work and final paving as part of the new interchange and overpass. Motorists may encounter construction-related congestion on I-5 in the evening and delays of up to 20 minutes on Highway 501, also known as Pioneer Street.

The schedule on Interstate 5:

• Monday through Friday: Up to two lanes will close nightly from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in both directions.

• Wednesday to Friday: The right lane on northbound I-5 will close from noon Wednesday to noon Friday.

• Friday through Sunday: The right lane on southbound I-5 will close noon Friday until noon Sunday.

Interstate 5 ramps:

• Wednesday and Thursday: The northbound I-5 onramps and offramps will close each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Friday and Saturday: The southbound I-5 onramps and offramps will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Highway 501:

• Today: Motorists face intermittent daytime delays of up to 20 minutes while workers conduct traffic control from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
