MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin running back John Clay says he’s still trying to find his timing and rhythm heading into Saturday’s game with Arizona State.
The reigning Big Ten offensive player of the year has already run for 240 yards and four touchdowns in wins over UNLV and San Jose State this season for the 11th-ranked Badgers.
Clay says his ankles are still about 85 percent following offseason surgery on both.
Both 2-0 teams will show off contrasting styles. The Badgers prefer a methodical, grinding running attack. Arizona State employs a hurry-up offensive spread built to strike quickly.
