An approximately six-foot-tall white male with a thin build and gray hair displayed a handgun at a tavern early Thursday morning and demanded money, according to a bulletin issued by the Washougal Police Department.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He had on a gray sweatshirt over a light blue flannel shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes and was wearing a wig. A photo of the man was not provided.

The man entered Smead’s Tavern at about 12:22 a.m., according to the bulletin. He made contact with an employee behind the bar and then showed off his gun, police said.

A perimeter was established around the bar and a K-9 unit unsuccessfully searched for the man.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Thad Eakins at 360-835-8701.
