VANCOUVER — The city of Vancouver will host a fourth and final community open house Thursday to share the latest information on the Northeast 137th-138th Avenue Improvement Project.

Residents, business owners, and property owners are invited to drop in from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Evergreen Public Schools Administrative Services, 13501 N.E. 28th St.

Participants can meet with the project team, get an update on the latest project developments, review the 90 percent completed design, and learn about the project timeline and next steps.

The planned improvements will enhance safety, mobility, capacity, and livability in the project corridor from Northeast 28th Street to Northeast 49th Street, the city said in a statement.

Improvements will include one 14-foot travel lane coupled with a 6-foot bike lane in each direction. Each travel lane will be separated by a continuous 2-foot median.

Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2011.
