EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Investigators say a candle started the fire that displaced four families and caused more than $300,000 damage to an apartment building south of Everett.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 says four brothers — ages 15, 9, 3 and 2 — were at home Sunday in the apartment where the fire started when a candle was knocked onto a bed.

All safely escaped, and there were no injuries.
