Ore. girl hit by shotput, rushed to hospital

MOLALLA, Ore. (AP) — A fire district spokeswoman says a 14-year-old girl accidentally hit in the head by a shotput at the Molalla, Ore., High School track has been airlifted to a Portland hospital with a possible skull fracture.

Molalla Fire District Lt. Denise Everheart said the girl was struck Tuesday afternoon.

The spokeswoman declined to release the girl’s name to The Oregonian, citing privacy laws. Everheart said she does not know the girl’s condition or details of how the injury happened.
