HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Dynamo signed forward Sergio Koke and midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson on Friday, just beating a transfer deadline for international players.
Koke, born in Spain, has been playing for the Greek club Aris, and has been a captain for the last two seasons. The 27-year-old Koke scored 30 goals over his five seasons in Greece and led Aris to the Greek Cup final in 2009-10. He is expected to join the Dynamo next week, pending the receipt of his international transfer certificate.
Watson has been training with the Dynamo this week. The 27-year-old Watson has spent his entire club career in his native Jamaica, most recently serving as team captain for Sporting Central.
